Waypoint Flight in Automatic Mode
About 2 minINAVINAV航点Waypoint任务模式自动飞行GPS导航
I. Principle
Waypoint Mission is an automatic flight mode where the flight controller system automatically navigates the aircraft according to preset waypoints and executes tasks along the set flight path. This mode is suitable for applications such as surveying, inspection, and aerial photography. The flight controller performs waypoint navigation based on GPS signals and flies according to set altitude, speed, and circling parameters.
II. Equipment Preparation
Hardware Equipment
- Flight Controller: Any of SpeedyBee F405 WING APP / SpeedyBee F405 WING MINI / CoreWing F405 WING V2 flight controllers are suitable for this tutorial.
- GPS Module: Used for precise positioning, such as BZ-251.
- RC Transmitter: Used for manually switching to waypoint mode.
- Ground Control Station Software: INAV Configurator.
III. Specific Operations
Step 1: Check GPS Status
- Connect the flight controller and power on, ensure GPS signal is normal, and OSD shows positioning successful.
- In the ground control station software, check if the aircraft position is displayed on the map. If GPS is not locked, wait for GPS positioning to complete.
Step 2: Set Waypoints - Confirm the distance from HOME point to waypoint 1, ensuring it does not exceed the waypoint safety distance.

- Adjust waypoint altitude, ensuring all waypoints are set above the safe altitude to avoid triggering RTH (Return To Home).

- Check waypoint circling radius:

Step 3: Save Waypoint Data - Click "Save EEPROM" to save the waypoint data to the flight controller.
- Check if "LOAD" prompt appears in the top-left corner to ensure the waypoint data was successfully written.

- Manage waypoint data in the following order:
- First export waypoint data from EEPROM to ensure waypoint settings are correct.
- After confirming waypoints are correct, import to the flight controller.
- Wait for "End send point" prompt to appear in the top-left corner, indicating successful waypoint writing.

OSDdisplays Mission Load, indicating the waypoint mission has been successfully loaded.
Step 4: Execute Waypoint Flight- Perform normal hand launch, ensuring the aircraft flies stably.
- Manually switch to waypoint mode (Mission Mode) near waypoint 1.
- The flight controller automatically navigates the aircraft into mission mode, beginning to fly according to the set waypoints.
