Updating EdgeTX via Bootloader
I. Backup SD Card Content
Before updating your RC transmitter, we strongly recommend that you back up the current SD card content by following these steps.
- Turn on the RC transmitter and connect it to your computer via USB. When the RC transmitter prompts you to select a USB mode, select USB Storage.

- On your computer, copy all contents of the SD card to a safe location. These files can be reused if you need to roll back the update.
II. SD Card Preparation
- Download and extract the EdgeTX SD card content suitable for your RC transmitter type. The SD card content can be obtained from the following address: https://github.com/EdgeTX/edgetx-sdcard/releases
The following are descriptions of .zip files for different RC transmitter types:
- c480x272zip (480x272 horizontal color screen) - Suitable for TX16s, T16, Horus x10s, Horus x12s, and most color screen RC transmitters
- c480x320 (480x320 horizontal color screen)
- c320x480zip (320x480 vertical color screen) - Suitable for FlySky Nirvana NV14, EL18
- bw128x64.zip (128x64 monochrome screen) - Suitable for all monochrome screen RC transmitters except the X9D series
- bw212x64zip (212x64 monochrome screen) - Suitable for X9D, X9D Plus, X9D Plus 2019
- Copy the extracted files to the RC transmitter's SD card. If prompted to overwrite existing files, select confirm.
This will only update a portion of the SD card files from the default EdgeTX installation and will not modify or delete other files you have added (such as LUA scripts, sound files, images, custom themes, model files, RC transmitter settings files, etc.). - Download the required sound packs: https://github.com/EdgeTX/edgetx-sdcard-sounds/releases, extract them, and copy them to the Sounds folder on the SD card. If prompted to overwrite existing files, select confirm.
III. Flashing EdgeTX Bootloader and Firmware
- Download the current version of EdgeTX firmware. You can directly download the latest .zip file from GitHub (filename format: edgetx-firmware-vX.X.X.zip): https://github.com/EdgeTX/edgetx/releases/latest
- After extracting the files, save the corresponding .bin file (matching your RC transmitter type) to the Firmware folder on the SD card.
- Turn on the RC transmitter, navigate to the SD card page, open the Firmware folder, and select the EdgeTX firmware file you just copied to the SD card. Select the Flash Bootloader option. The bootloader will be updated.

Important
Note: If EdgeTX detects that the bootloader file does not match the current target, the "Flash Bootloader" option will not be displayed.
- Return to the main screen and turn off the RC transmitter. While holding down the trim switches T4 and T1, press the power button to start the RC transmitter in bootloader mode.

Important
For Jumper T-Pro, you need to hold the Boot0 button and insert USB to enter DFU mode.
- After entering the EdgeTX bootloader, select the Write Firmware option. Select the EdgeTX firmware file saved on the SD card and long-press to flash.

Important
Note: If the bootloader detects that the firmware target does not match the currently running target, an error message will appear indicating that the firmware is invalid.
After flashing is complete, select Exit. The RC transmitter will restart, and you will see Welcome EdgeTX, indicating a successful update!
