How to Update EdgeTX Using EdgeTX Buddy

I. Backup SD Card Content
- Turn on the RC transmitter and connect it to the computer via USB. When the transmitter prompts to select a USB mode, choose USB Storage.

- On the computer, copy all contents of the SD card to a safe location. These files can be reused if you need to roll back the update.
II. Update Bootloader and Firmware
- With the RC transmitter turned off, connect it to the computer via USB, which will connect the transmitter to the computer in DFU mode.
For Jumper T-Pro, you need to hold the Boot0 button before inserting USB to enter DFU mode.
Visit the following website: https://buddy.edgetx.org/, Select the Firmware Version and Transmitter Model, then click Flash via USB.
- On the next screen, select the STM32 Bootloader device and click Next.

Important
If the STM32 Bootloader device is not displayed, select Add New Device. In the popup window, select STM32 Bootloader and click Connect.

3. After selecting the STM32 Bootloader device and clicking Next, a confirmation screen will be displayed to verify your settings.
After confirming all information is correct (version, transmitter, and device), click the Start Flashing button.
EdgeTX Buddy will start the flashing process, and the screen will display the progress.
After flashing is complete, click the Set Up Your SD Card link on the completion screen, which will take you to the SD card content page.
III. Set Up SD Card
- Disconnect the RC transmitter from the computer and power it on. You will see the transmitter display the EdgeTX splash screen, but you will still hear the "Welcome to OpenTX" prompt tone, which is normal.

- After powering on the RC transmitter, connect it to the computer via USB. When the transmitter prompts to select a USB mode, choose USB Storage. Click the Select SD Card option, then navigate to the EdgeTX SD card.

- The EdgeTX SD card will be mounted as a USB drive on your computer. After selecting the USB drive, click Select Folder.

- On the SD card content page, confirm the firmware version and transmitter model are correct, then select the desired sound package language. Click Apply Changes.
A status window will pop up and display the installation progress. After the files are installed, the status window will automatically close.
EdgeTX has been successfully updated!
If you are unable to flash firmware using EdgeTX Buddy, please follow the steps below to flash firmware via the bootloader.
Keep the RC transmitter connected to the computer via USB and in USB Storage mode.
IV. Update Transmitter Firmware Using Bootloader
- Return to the Transmitter Firmware tab.
- Select the Firmware Version and Transmitter Model, then click Download .bin File.
- After the firmware download is complete, you will be prompted to select a save location. Navigate to the transmitter's SD card and select the Firmware folder, then click Save.

- Disconnect the USB cable and turn off the transmitter power.
- Simultaneously hold the trim switches T4 and T1 and press the power button to start the transmitter in bootloader mode.

- After entering the bootloader, select the Write Firmware option. Select the EdgeTX firmware file saved on the SD card and long-press to flash.

- After flashing is complete, select Exit. The transmitter will restart and run the updated EdgeTX version.
