Model Management for Color Screen Remote Controls
The Model Management screen allows you to create new models, select which model is active, create and apply model labels, and create model templates.
I. Selecting and Managing Existing Models
The name of the active model will be highlighted (in this case, yellow) and displayed in the top bar of the screen. Double-clicking the active model will provide you with the following options:
- Copy Model - This option creates an exact copy of the model with the same name. Changes to the model name or other settings need to be made in the model settings tab.
- Label Model - When this option is selected, all configured labels will be displayed and can be selected for this model. For more information on model labels, see below.
- Save as Template - This option saves a copy of the model as a model template.
Changes to a model saved as a template will not update the template itself.
Double-clicking an inactive model (not highlighted) will provide you with the following options: - Select Model - This option selects this model as the active model.
- Copy Model - As described above.
- Delete Model - This option moves the model to the deleted folder on the SD card. Only inactive models can be deleted.
- Label Model - As described above.
- Save as Template - As described above.
II. Creating a New Model
To create a new model, select the New Model button in the top right corner. You will then see the following options:
- Blank Model - This will create a blank model with only default options configured.
- Wizard - This will start the new model wizard and create a model based on the configuration in the wizard.
- Personal - This option will allow you to select a saved model template and then copy it as a new model.
- SoarETX and SoarETXv2 - This will display pre-configured model templates for RC model gliders.
Any other folders you create in /TEMPLATES on your SD card will also be displayed here. If none of the above buttons are displayed, it means the SD card pack is not properly installed or updated.
- SoarETX and SoarETXv2 - This will display pre-configured model templates for RC model gliders.
2.1 Model Labels
Model labels allow you to assign one or more labels to each model. You can then filter the models displayed in the Model Management screen based on selected labels.
This makes it easier for people with many configured models to find them. By default, the Favorites and Unlabeled tags are automatically created. All models are considered Unlabeled until a label is applied.
2.2 Filtering Models by Labels
To filter visible models by labels, select a filter from the left column. It will automatically filter out models that do not have these model labels.
2.3 Assigning Labels to Models
To assign labels to a model, double-click the model or press [Enter] while the model is selected, then select Label Model.
After selection, all configured labels will be displayed, and one or more labels can be selected for this model. Labels applied to the model will be marked with a checkmark icon.
2.4 Creating a New Model Label
To create a new model label, select the New button in the bottom left corner of the screen. An Enter Label popup will appear where you can enter the desired label name. Select Save to save the new label.
2.5 Editing Model Labels
Long press [Enter] or long press the desired label, and you will see a menu with the following options:
- Rename Label - Change the label's name
- Delete Label - Delete the label from the label list and from all models that have been assigned this label.
- Move Up - Move the label up in the list
- Move Down - Move the label down in the list
2.6 Sorting Models
The dropdown menu below the label list is used to sort the filtered models. Models can be sorted in the following ways:
- Name A-Z
- Name Z-A
- Least Used
- Most Used
III. Selecting the Model List Layout
In the Model Management page, there are 4 layouts for the model list:
Model List Layout:
- Large Image (2x2) - Default layout
- Small Image (3x3)
- Name Only, 2 Columns (2x6)
- Name Only, 1 Column (1x6)
You can change the layout by pressing the Layout button (next to the New button), which will cycle through the available layouts.
