How to Set Up Wireless Coach with Multi-Protocol Module
I. Prerequisites
To set up a wireless trainer connection using a multi-protocol module, you will need the following equipment:
- A student radio with a FrSky D16-capable TX module
- A trainer radio with:
- A multi-protocol module used as RX
- An additional TX module for communicating with the model (protocol-agnostic, but must match the protocol used by the RX on the model)
II. Procedure
Ensure the model is bound to the desired TX module and is operating correctly on the trainer radio.
Step 1:
On the trainer radio, configure the Trainer section in Radio Settings. For more information on how to set up this page, refer to the Trainer Functions section.

Step 2:
On the trainer radio, configure the Trainer section in Model Settings. For Mode, select Master/Multi

Step 3:
On the trainer radio, configure the special function Trainer. Assign a switch to activate the mode and ensure the function is enabled.

Step 4:
On the trainer radio, configure the Internal RF and External RF sections in Model Setup. The RF module mode for communicating with the student radio should be set to Multi, FRSkyRX and RF Protocol: Multi.
You also need to configure a receiver number. Both the trainer and student radios must use the same receiver number. The other RX module should be configured to communicate with the model.

Step 5:
On the student radio, configure the internal RF or external RF (the module to be used) to communicate with the trainer radio.
If using a multi-protocol module, it should be set to Multi, FRSkyX and RF Protocol: D16. Configure the receiver number to the same number configured in the previous step.

Step 6:
On the student radio, do not configure the Trainer section in Model Settings or Radio Settings, but set the Mode option in the Trainer section of Model Settings to Off.

Trainer mode is now successfully configured!
You can test this by observing the channel monitor on the trainer radio, activating the trainer mode with the configured switch, and moving the sticks on the student radio.
If configured correctly, you should see the stick movements from the student radio on the trainer radio's channel monitor.
