How to configure RSSI in INAV firmware
I. Principle
RSSI (Received Signal Strength Indicator) is used to monitor the strength of the RC signal, helping pilots to determine signal quality and avoid loss of control due to signal loss.
II. Equipment Preparation
Hardware
1) Flight Controller: This tutorial is applicable to any of the following flight controllers: SpeedyBee F405 WING APP / SpeedyBee F405 WING MINI / CoreWing F405 WING V2.
2) RC Transmitter: Using Radiomaster TX16S RC Transmitter / Radiomaster Boxer RC Transmitter as examples.
3) Receiver: Using SpeedyBee ELRS Nano 2.4G / TBS NANO Receiver as examples.
4) Antenna: Using built-in ELRS module or external ELRS antenna, TBS antenna as examples.
5) Computer: Used for configuring parameters using a computer ground control station.
6) VTX (Video Transmitter): Analog VTX / HD VTX.
7) VTX Monitoring: Small monitor / HD VTX goggles.

III. Specific Operations
Method 1: Transmit RSSI via PWM Channel (TBS Antenna and TBS NANO Receiver)
1. Set RSSI Transmission Channel on RC Transmitter:
- Turn on the RC transmitter → Open the SYS menu → Navigate to the TOOLS page → Find the TBS Agent Lite script and click to enter.

- Find XF Nano RX and enter Channel Map.

- Select the corresponding channel as the RSSI channel (typically set to CH12 for Black Sheep).

2. Flight Controller Settings: - Open INAV Ground Control Station → Go to the Receiver page → Set RSSI Channel to CH12 to match the RC transmitter settings → Click Save and Reboot.

- Go to the OSD page → Enable the RSSI(Signal Strength) option → Click Save.

- Verify RSSI Display:
Check the small monitor/HD VTX goggles screen for the RSSI display item to observe if the RSSI reading changes with the signal.
Method 2: Obtain RSSI via CRSF Protocol (ELRS Antenna and SpeedyBee ELRS Nano 2.4G)
*When using CRSF protocol, there is no need to set RSSI Channel.
1. Flight Controller Settings: - Open INAV Ground Control Station → Go to the Receiver page → Set Serial Receiver Provider to
CRSF→ Click Save and Reboot.
- Go to the OSD page → Enable the CRSF RX's RX RSSI in dBm and RX Link Quality % options → Click Save.

- Verify RSSI Display:
Check the small monitor/HD VTX goggles screen for the RSSI display item to observe if the RSSI reading changes with the signal.
