RF Module Firmware Switching Guide: mLRS → ELRS

I. Determining Firmware Type

Warning

First confirm what firmware the current TX and RX are using!

1.1 Determining Transmitter Module Firmware

Power on the transmitter module, view the LED screen, and confirm the transmitter module firmware.

1.2 Determining Receiver Firmware

After powering on the receiver, observe the LED light color and flashing pattern to quickly determine the current firmware type.

II. Pre-Upgrade Preparation

2.1 Device Preparation

Flight Controller

• CoreWing F405 WING V2

Wireless Communication Modules

• Transmitter Module: Sirius 2.4G
• Receiver: SkyGuy Nano 2G4 RX

RC Transmitter

• Recommended: RadioMaster TX16S
• Compatible: Other RC transmitters supporting CRSF protocol

Smartphone

• Installed with CoreWing APP

2.3 Receiver Connection Instructions

Important

CoreWing F405 WING V2 Flight Controller to Receiver Connection

1. Interface Requirement: Must connect to Serial Port 6

2. Reason Explanation:

   • Serial Port 6 has built-in DMA support
   • Supports 460800bps high baud rate communication

⚠️ Note: Other serial ports (such as Serial Port 4) are hardware compatible, but this port does not support DMA, and the receiver will not communicate properly if using MAVLink mode.

2.4 Prerequisites for Enabling RX WiFi on mLRS Receiver

Warning

When RX is still mLRS firmware, it cannot automatically enter WiFi by waiting 60 seconds like ELRS receivers.
The following two prerequisites must be met to enable RX WiFi:

1. TX has also been flashed to mLRS firmware
2. TX and RX have completed mLRS binding

Then, on the transmitter module's LED screen Actions page, find RX WiFi and manually enable it.

III. Select Current TX/RX Firmware and Display Corresponding Tutorial

Before switching firmware, it's recommended to confirm whether you'll be using ELRS CRSF mode or ELRS MAVLink mode:

Tips

• If you just want stable reception of RC commands, prioritize CRSF mode
• If you need GCS telemetry, mission planning, or real-time flight status viewing, use MAVLink mode
